Kazumi held the flier in her hands as she was lying on her bed, one arm behind her head and both legs resting with her knees pointed toward the giant light blue canopy that was over her bed, her left leg crossed over the right. The flier was for an end of summer beach party that the Host Club at Ouran was throwing and while it seemed interesting, she didn't exactly see the point in going to party that was celebrating the end of summer. I mean come on, are they that excited for school to start? There was a soft knock at her door before her mother opened it and popped her head in, a small frown coming over her face as she saw that her daughter was still in her pajamas. "What are you still doing in your pajamas? Its almost eleven." Kazumi gave some kind of uncaring noise and her mother came to sit on her bed, resting her hands on her daughter's knees as she looked at Kazumi, who still had the flier in her hands.
Suddenly the flier was gone and she blinked in surprise, looking at her mother as she read it. "Oh! A beach party?! How exciting! We should go, and we can wear the matching bikinis I bought!" Kazumi sat up quickly, shaking her head and ignoring how her black hair was lying flat and moving with her head. "No. Absolutely not. If you want to go to that stupid beach party fine, but I'm not going and I'm not wearing a bikini." Her mother gave a huff and was staring at Kazumi's back as the girl began digging around in her closet for normal clothes to wear. She wasn't going to that stupid beach party. "Kazumi, it'd be fun. And you wouldn't even have to hang around me at all! And I won't make you wear the pink bikini...I got you a light blue one instead!"
Kazumi's face fell and she turned, watching as her mother pulled a light blue bikini out of...well out of nowhere really. Now where in the hell did she pull that from? It wasn't really that bad looking and the bottoms were more like really short shorts instead of the scary panty style that most of the other girls seemed to like. The top was a normal bikini top, something that she could live with if she had to, and so Kazumi let out a small sigh and nodded. Her mother jumped up with her hands in the air and set the bikini down, running to her daughter and giving her a kiss on the forehead before leaving the room. Groaning, she slipped into the bikini and looked at herself for a moment, shaking her head and fixing her hair so that it was standing up in her normal fashion, and then pulled a pair of basket ball shorts and a tank-top out from the closet, putting them over top.
It was probably a good thing that the beach wasn't that far away from Kazumi's house because it seemed that her mother was ridiculously excited. When they arrived the amount of people on the beach was daunting for the girl, but her mother linked arms with Kazumi and practically dragged her onto the sandy beach. "Mother! I can walk on my own!"
Her pleads went unheard and then suddenly she stopped, looking around with a pleased smile before setting up the two beach towels and instantly putting up two umbrellas at the head of each of them. Her mother worked so fast that Kazumi didn't really have time to try and help out. There were loud groans from nearby and both of them turned to look over at a large barbecue that was being manned by a teenage boy who looked as though he had never a cooked a day in his life. "Ugh, he's going to ruin the damn food at this rate." Kazumi had already thrown her tank-top onto the towel, but her basketball shorts were still on as she made her way over to the kid, taking the spatula and removing the burnt burgers he had been making. "Why don't you go find someone who actually knows how to use this damn thing?" He blinked at her and Kazumi waved the spatula in his face, indicating that he should start moving before she smacked him with it. The hint finally got across to him and he ran off as Kazumi started putting fresh burgers on the grill. Not exactly how she had planned on spending her day at the beach.[/blockquote] Tagged:: Lijuan, but anyone can join in Notes:: ---[/blockquote]

Let's dance in style, let's dance for awhile Heaven can wait, we're only watching the skies! Darkness. Blackness. And a light turned out. And his eyes opened slowly. Groggily, Kyo lifted his body, and pulled the blankets off of his body. "Mom?" He asked slowly. As his eyes adjusted to the light, he could tell his mother was standing over him. She was tall, red haired, and attractive. Young looking for her age aswell. Kyo pushed the blankets off of his legs and sat completely up. "Yeah. I got this flier in the mail, hon. It seems there's a beach party going on, and I expect you're going." Kyo sighed. His mother was always worried he wasn't making friends or socializing. Which he wasn't. But that didn't bother him at all.
Pushing his bangs out of his face, he didn't answer. His mother was giving him the death stare, her eyes locking with his for a second until he looked away. "You ARE going, aren't you?" She pushed the answer again. "Yes, Mother." He spat the words out and stood up, going towards his clothes drawers. "... Out." Came the quiet words that came from his lips and his mother shrugged. As she left, Kyo pushed the door closed and relaxed a little. After sitting on the edge of his bed for a few minutes he walked down the hall and into the bathroom. Quickly, he took his clothes off and dumped them on the floor. Shower time.
He had to admit, he did feel refreshed now. Pulling on his swim trunks and a t-shirt, he leaped out his door, down the hall, and down the stairs. "You forgot your shoes! And breakfast!" His mother called as she sat on the couch reading her book like she always did. Face red, Kyo whipped around and stalked back upstairs and snatched up his flip flops. Brown, basic, and not something you'd look at unless you had to, they were a little junky but Kyo didn't mind. The red haired boy shot back down the stairs and snatched up a bagel that was sitting on the counter. His hand reached for the doorknob and he prayed his mother wouldn't call him back for something else. And she didn't.
Thank God, he managed to get out. Kyo shoved his hands in his pockets and walked down the street. He didn't feel like driving. right now. The red haired boy walked past street after street, stop sign after stop sign. He walked until he realized something. He lived way too far away. He couldn't walk this way! Sighing, he sat by a stop sign until a taxi drove by. Stepping slightly into the street and waving his hands, the taxi slowed to a stop and he jumped in. "The beach." His words were sharp as he handed over the money, and the man who drove didn't have to be told twice. Kyo leaned against the door, his eyes staring out the window, glad he was in air conditioning and stting. Not walking.
The taxi slowed to a stop next to the board walk and Kyo jumped out. Not wasting a moment, he ran down the boardwalk and let out a loud sigh as his feet met the beach. Licking his lips, he walked down towards the beach and let the waves wash over his aching feet. He wanted to sit down. Now. But before he could, his stomach let out a loud growl, and Kyo furrowed his eyebrows. A bagel would not satisfy him. The smell of cooking burgers wafted into his nose and Kyo looked to his right. At first he saw nothing, but he double-taked. "... Food!" He walked slowly towards the girl that was cooking. Aah... it smelled so good.
Kyo walked to the side of the girl, but not so close. He gave her space. "Smells g-good." The words were quiet as he smiled. But his shyness was taking over. He was so hungry. Kyo was dying to sink his teeth into a good burger. Yum. "W-w-would you mind giving a h-hungry boy some food?" He asked cheerfully.

Considering Kazumi hadn't wanted to even go to the stupid beach party, she was that much more bitter about being stuck barbecuing for it, but there was a line of people and judging by the looks on their faces as they walked away she was doing a damn good job. Her mother skipped over and threw her arms around her daughter, remaining silent for a few moments before asking, "where did you learn to cook?" Kazumi frowned and flicked her eyes to meet with her mother's for a moment. "Not from you. Now do you mind? It's a little hard to flip a burger with someone leaning on my arms." Her mom frowned and stepped back, going to the towels again.
Okay, so maybe she had been a little harsh, but her mom knew there were limits to her being clung to like a stuffed animal. She hummed to herself as she stood there, pleased to see that the line was beginning to slim down and she hoped that the kid from before would hurry up with sending someone down before the line grew again. Kazumi had no intention of doing this the entire time that she was here. There were only two more people in line when she looked down, but by the time she served the second one there was an orange haired boy.
He stood back some, further than most of the others, and she didn't see a plate in his hands so Kazumi half-wondered what he wanted. The other half of her wondered why he was being so damn quiet. Raising an eyebrow she grabbed one of the spare plates to the side made a burger up for him, closing the lid on the barbecue as soon as she did so. "You know, you don't have to be so quiet."
She chewed on her lip for a moment, trying to figure out why he looked familiar when she asked, "do I know you?"[/blockquote] Tagged:: Li, Kyo Notes:: Li's going to hop in later so go ahead and respond when you get the chance <3[/blockquote]

someone told me long ago... that there's a calm before the storm! The foot prints in the sand. The fact that there weren't as many burgers as their good be, it was obvious that Kyo was last in the line. Lifting his head he watched her flip the burgers, then notice him. Her words sounded questioning. He hadn't been really paying attention, his mouth was watering too much, his eyes were on the burgers. He lifted his head and finally muttered out the reply. "Sorry." It was like a little child, being forced to apologize for something they actually weren't sorry for. He was like a child in general. Sweet, but immature. That was just him. Another trait he had was that he was hungry. All the time. He always wanted food. Always.
Noticing he didn't have a plate, his face fell. "H-hold on! I'll be right back!" He couldn't sputter the words out fast enough. The second he uttered the last word he whipped around and sprinted to the nearest table. A large group of people were eating, and they had a huge amount of un-used paper plates. "Sorry. I need to use this." He snatched up a paper plate from the confused and flustered looking people. It was unused, thank God. How weird would it have been if he had snatched up someone's plate? In his haste he hadn't checked, so it was a miracle. Brushing sand and dirt from his shirt and trying to look presentable, he sprinted back, looking a little tired. But he was hungrier than he was tired.
"Okay... I gotta plate." Kyo panted. He brushed more sand from his shorts and nodded. "Uhm..." He turned a little red as what he'd done sank in. How awkward he must seem! He was so desprate for those juicy looking patties that he hadn't even tried to seem polite. But that was only for girls. he wouldn't have cared if it was some dude making the food. "I uh. My name's Kyo. Kyo Ikari." He wasn't sure if he was supposed to be holding out his hand for her to shake it, so he just smiled weakly at her. Damn he was awkward. "Does it cost to eat them? I've got money. I'm really hungry." He sputtered the words out.
