so far away from where you areI'M STANDING UNDERNEATH THE STARS AND I WISH YOU WERE HEREi miss the years that were eraced He was only here for his sister. Yes. That's right. He was only here for his sister. Still...
He twitched slightly, staring ahead quietly. The store was bright pink, filled with frilly things of the feminine sort. He adored such things, not that he'd admit to it. After all, he was allowed to come anywhere near it. Yuuki was almost dead certain that his sister had planned on this. Just to test him. Test if he could really handle himself in such an effeminate enviroment. Filled with all the things he loved and cherished.
Yuuki swallowed and walked inside the store slowly. He grimaced, trying to hold himself back from prancing about the girly things.
Only for his sister. Yes, yes. He'd only get her shoujo manga, some candy, ...oh maybe a teddy bear or something... No! No! Bad Yuuki. He wasn't supposed to think of such things.
He was a man. And he demanded to be treated as such. Yuuki skittered about nervously, picking up a manga book. He raised an eyebrow quietly as he heard slight chattering and giggles around him. A faint pink rushed to his face, glancing down at the ground and setting it down quickly. "It's for my sister, alright?" He stammered quickly, shooting his eyes in another direction.
His almost teal hair swayed slightly as he turned quickly to rush out of the store. Yuuki however, had not been watching where he was going; having accidentally collided with another young woman (or so he'd have expected) entering. How embarassing. What if half these girls went to Ouran?
Oh god no. His reputation would go down the toilet in five seconds flat.
He really hadn't thought this through. A flushed expression came to his face when he had fallen to the floor on his bum. Yuuki, however, decided to be polite at this time. As it had actually been his fault for running into the poor girl in the first place. "Oh, I apologize for making you fall. I really am." He said hurriedly, getting to his feet and dusting off his jeans before holding a hand out to the girl (or boy he supposed, but it would have been strange no?).

Nabiki looked back at the house she had just left, a small smile playing on her lips. She had been told by both parents not to leave the house. It wasn't that she was in trouble, after all Nabiki was too much of a goody-goody to get into trouble, but they just wanted her to stay home. This request seemed rather ridiculous to the girl since neither parent was even home at them moment. Their whereabouts were unknown to the young teenager, which made sneaking from the house slightly harder since there was no way to know when they would be back. Normally she didn't bother with sneaking out, normally she didn't have to be bothered with it, but Nabiki needed new manga to read, and if she didn't get it then damn it, she was going to go crazy.
The mall wasn't far from her house and she knew of the perfect store to go to. Not only that, but walking into that store for Nabiki was like walking into heaven on earth. She never considered herself a very girly-girl, but she loved shoujo manga with a passion, and at the moment there was a series that needed finished in her collection. The store was, to say it lightly, a very feminine store and was hardly ever visited by the male community, unless forced by a significant other or a family member. It's pink walls were bright and there were stuffed animals everywhere, a few of which Nabiki had sitting on shelves in her bedroom.
There was a whole other wall that was dedicated to dolls, all of which she found rather creepy looking. Smiling, Nabiki skipped into the store, but she stopped suddenly. It wasn't the blue hair that caught her attention, though in any other location it probably would have. No, it was the fact that a boy was now making his way out of the very girly store that she had just been about to enter. Nabiki wasn't the type to discriminate, but the fact there was a boy here with no girl dragging him around made her pause.
Unfortunately, she was too dumbstruck to move and he was in too much of a rush to really see her, and so they collided. Nabiki fell back on her butt with a loud "oomph" and she quickly pushed down her skirt since it had crept it's way further up her thighs. Her skirts were short enough, the last thing she needed was for them to suddenly scoot higher up. Positive that nothing had been seen, Nabiki looked up as he stood, apologizing. Taking his outstretched hand, the small girl stood and readjusted her skirt and top, "it's okay. I wasn't paying too much attention either." She looked up at him with a sweet smile,"did you come to get something for your girlfriend?"

so far away from where you areI'M STANDING UNDERNEATH THE STARS AND I WISH YOU WERE HEREi miss the years that were eraced Yuuki merely offered a small smile for the moment, pulling the girl up slowly to make sure that neither of the two stumbled and fell again. "Yeah. That's probably why." A girlfriend...? He didn't even have one. Between judo, taking care of his sister, and doing basically everything... the thought never really crossed his mind. Of course, thinking about it now it was probably a good excuse.
"Uh, not exactly." He responded, letting his arm fall back to his side when the girl had finally stood again. "I was getting something for my sister. But you know. A guy walks into a frilly, girly store and everyone automatically assumes you're gay." Yuuki responded bluntly, giving his shoulders a slight roll.
"But why are you curious?" His lips twitched upward, forming a slight smirk. He adjusted his plain black t-shirt as well as the red jacket he wore around it, open for all to stare at him should they opt to. "Listen, um..." He scratched the back of his head, staring at the girl awkwardly. The seventeen year old mechanic coughed to regain his composure, looking at her again.
"I need to get some manga for my sister. You don't mind coming in with me, right? Since you're already headed in the same direction... might as well. I don't need anyone harassing me about my sexuality. Or someone whining about how 'all the cute ones are gay' or whatever." He had made his voice higher on the one comment that most of the girls had made when he stepped inside.
Yuuki's face became emotionless for a moment, blue hair moving slightly as he stared. It wasn't like him to be polite, honestly. It seemed a bit odd. Normally by now, he would have snapped and romped off complaining about how the world was all out to get him. Hmph. She was just lucky, that's right.
He was a complete badass, and he would live by such a reputation. Or so help it, he'd make sure that it'd stay for the long run. After all, who would respect him for being such a sissy, girly guy? No one. Much less his mother or sister.

Nabiki blinked when he told her he didn't have a girlfriend. Sure, the blue hair was a little weird and all, but at the same time she kind of liked it. Not to mention he is cute! her mind screamed and Nabiki felt her face heat up slightly, but she ignored it, figuring it would only be noticeable if she made a big deal over it. "Oh, you're here for your sister? How cute," she said. He asked why she was curious and Nabiki averted her eyes while biting her lower lip. He had just gotten done saying that he hated it when people stereotyped him as gay because he was in the store. So how was she supposed to tell him that's exactly what she had been thinking? "Um, well, I was just curious," she managed to spit out, not really lying but not telling the whole truth either.
Looking back up at him, there was a curious look in Nabiki's blue eyes as she waited for him to say what it was that he wanted to ask. He seemed to be embarrassed to ask whatever it was and her head tilted to the side slightly. Finally, he managed to spit it out and a smirk came over her face. It was nothing like the sweet smile that had been on her face just moments before. This smirk screamed that the short girl had something in mind, and oh boy was it going to be enjoyable. Oh so very enjoyable.
Nabiki noticed how he his face became a blank slate for a few moments and she wondered about it briefly, but waved the thought away. "Well, I suppose I could help you out," she told him. The smirk was gone, and while the smile on her face said "sweet and innocent" there was a look in her eyes that held a different story altogether. She wasn't the type of girl who got easily embarrassed, and despite the fact that she knew nothing about this boy, she slipped her arm around his, hugging it.
"Now come on. I have manga I need to buy before my parents get back and realize that I'm not home," Nabiki told him, starting to pull him into the store. They received looks, especially the blue-haired boy, and she could hear the whispers. "So what kind does your sister read anyway?"

so far away from where you areI'M STANDING UNDERNEATH THE STARS AND I WISH YOU WERE HEREi miss the years that were eraced Yuuki merely stared blankly at the girl, careful to not let his gaze linger in particular spots for too long. She was actually kind of cute. Not exactly model beautiful, but cute. His lips twitched upward as he watched her face color. He had half a mind to ask what it was exactly that she had been thinking about that made her turn such an adorable color. "Mhm. Sister dearest wouldn't get up and go get it herself, so she sent me." He responded. Curious?
She probably had assumed that about him as well. Natural, he supposed. "Sure, sure. You should know something dear. I don't like lying. And we wouldn't want to have our relationship start off with a lie now do we?" He had moved his hand quietly, tilting her head up to look at him directly in the eyes.
He turned quietly, letting his arm fall back to his side. Eeh? She had wrapped her arms around his hugging it almost. Had he let his guard down, Yuuki would have become completely and utterly flustered at the fact she had done such a thing. But instead, the blue haired boy merely walked on ahead without much emotion displayed onto his pretty face.
"What kind? I'm not sure. I don't pay attention. What do you read? She'll probably like that too." Lies, all lies. He knew every single shoujo manga his sister owned. Mostly because he read them himself, but that was aside from the point. Perhaps he would buy some himself... in secret of course! He wouldn't... have anyone know about this. Of course.
Yuuki looked back down at the odd girl again. "I haven't seen you anywhere before. Where do you go to school...?" He inquired, trying to start a conversation.

Nabiki's mouth formed a slight "o" as he further explained as to why he was here instead of his sister. "Well she must realize how lucky she is. After all, most girl's can't even get their boyfriends to come into this store," she stated, her fingers entwining through one of her pigtails. It was a habit of hers, and it seemed to happen whether she was thinking about it or not. Her blue eyes were still downcast as she suddenly found her shoes rather interesting. The feel of his fingers under her chin made her eyes widen as he tilted her head up, forcing her to look at him. The last person to have done this was a fellow member of the Zuka Club, and she couldn't help but wonder what was up with people and tilting her head for her.
Most girls, upon being accused of lying, would would either blush and stammer out an apology or they would get defensive and try to say that they weren't. Nabiki did neither. She smiled up at him and gave a small chuckle while removing his hand from under her chin gently, "I'm sorry. Though would you rather I have mentioned my assumptions? After all, you did just get done saying that you hated when people mentioned the possibility of you being gay." She gave him a slightly questioning look. She may have had the thought, but at least she hadn't asked him.
He didn't give any kind of reaction when Nabiki grabbed onto his arm and the shorter girl frowned slightly. She hadn't been looking for anything specific, but she was the type of girl who based her own thoughts and actions off of others. Of course, the fact that he wasn't trying to pull away or push her off meant that he couldn't have minded too much, right? He's leaving it up to me? Nabiki thought with a slight "hm" as she looked over the manga they were standing in front of. She bent over slightly to get a better look at a lower shelf, being wary of the shortness of her skirt.
"Well, I'm in the middle of this series," she said, pulling out volume 7 of Fruits Basket. "It's a cute one, or there's Hana Kimi," she added, pulling out one of those too as she straightened. Pushing both of them into his arms, her head turned to look at others, thinking back of the massive collection that she had at her house. "Hm?" Nabiki mused, only half hearing his question as she scanned the shelves. Deducing the rest, she looked back up at him, "oh, I go to St. Lobelia Academy. What about you?"
