Nabiki hummed to herself as she walked through the halls of Lobelia, and she would have been skipping had her arms not been laden with trays of cookies and other sweets. Ah sweets, they were her favorite not only to eat, but to bake as well, and she was certainly an excellent cook. This was not just an opinion, it was a face, and one that Nabiki prided herself on greatly. It was also a known fact that Nabiki more than often made too many sweets, and therefore there was always enough to go around. Today, however, she had gone way overboard.
With her mind still traveling back to what had happened at the beach over the weekend, Nabiki had been paying no attention to how much cookie dough she had made, nor how much of it she was using per cookie while she had been in her cooking class. As always, the food came out tasting delicious, but unfortunately the cookies were nearly the size of a person's head and she had made close to seven dozen of them, though not quite. Since it had been her that had made so many cookies, it was her responsibility to get rid of them all.
If it had been a day that the Zuka Club was meeting then that would have been simple. Unfortunately, the Zuka Club had no meeting today and Nabiki had no alternate way of getting rid of all of the damn cookies. A small sigh interrupted her humming and Nabiki allowed a frown to crease her features. She couldn't think of a single club that was meeting today, at least not a club that she would want to visit with. Her feet had carried her towards the ballroom and Nabiki shrugged.
"Maybe there's a place I can store them until the next meeting," Nabiki said aloud, not bothering to see if anyone was around. With the trays wobbling in her arms, the small girl carefully opened the door to the dark ballroom and stepped inside. She was unable to find the light switch with the trays partially covering her face and Nabiki sighed. "Okay, maybe not the brightest of ideas," she muttered, finding a table and setting the trays down carefully.
With that accomplished, all she had to do was go switch on the lights and find a place to store the cookies. Being uncoordinated was a problem for Nabiki, and the dark didn't help her situation too much. After only a couple of steps forward, Nabiki's foot caught against something, probably her other foot, and she fell forward with a loud gasp. Landing against the ground with an "oomph", Nabiki sat back up, holding her knee against her small body. Blinking rapidly, she tried to clear the tears from her blue eyes, but a few escaped, trailing down her cheeks.

If she had been there, Benio would certainly have gone out of her way to catch her fellow club member --- allowing the girl's body to be supported by a hand while the other cupping the girl's chin --- like she would always do with everyone within St. Lobelia. Of course, she wouldn't dare speak words of love to the lady --- she was not like those Host Club members, using false words to charm the hearts of many. Instead, she would have just smiled, sliding her finger underneath the girl's chin, before helping her stand up properly while questioningly staring at the girl.
Too bad she wasn't there to do all that, and more if so she thought. Benio was far from the ballroom at that time, although already heading towards her favorite place in the whole of Lobelia. She passed countless rooms on her way, a bit nerved at the lack of people ( read, her fan club ) which was an achievement in its own right. There was no day other than today that the sophomore wasn't mobbed by her own schoolmates --- even she had said ( through whispers ) in an enjoyable, almost satisfying way.
Her heels clicked with the white, marble flooring as she passed more and more rooms, with only the silence accompanying her as she finally reached her destination. Within her mind, she half wondered if anyone came by the ballroom today, even if no one was required to. Her appearance was her own requirement, just because she loved the ballroom so much. And so, she gave the closed door a push, entering a, rather, dark room. The light switch was just near her, so the darkness didn't really matter.
Now, imagine the older girl's surprise when she entered the ballroom, first switching open the lights, only to see a figure scrunched up on the hard, wooden floor. Benio's instinct's took over, hurrying towards this girl's side, her heels making loud, clanking sounds as opposed to the regal walk she had taken only moments ago with it. The so-called "lady of the rose" slid, her knees making quite an impact with the floor, in an attempt to get to the girl faster, as quite a distance was between the two of them.
Benio took one look at her face to recognize who she was with at once, though failed. Instead, she focused on whatever aspect was within her eye's vicinity. " Ah, it's Nabiki-chan. " --- she mouthed, noting her hair rather than her face, as the latter was obscured by the former. This was when Benio now noticed the full form of her fellow Zuka Club member, with her leg held close to her body, wrapped by her two arms. Again, instinct would tell the sophomore to reach her hand out, slowly and softly holding Nabiki's chin and pushing it gently to face her, while her other hand parted the younger's hair so she would have a good look at Nabiki's face. She took a good look at her fellow member's face, her eyes widening at the sight of tears trickling down the girl's cheeks, or so she immediately assumed to be tears. For a third time, instinct overcame Benio, as she brushed her hand over Nabiki's cheek, a smile forming on her face for the Zuka Club member.
" Now, now. Don't cry. My princess should never let anyone see her tears. It saddens me that someone else is able to see what I should only see. "
As opposed to earlier, Benio actually loved being the princess --- sharing her love, that is. And her understanding of "sharing" was that it's for everyone. And everyone also included her fellow Zuka Club members.

Nabiki bit her bottom lip as she rubbed the sore spot on her knee. The tears had stopped, but excess tears were still making their way down her pale cheeks. For a moment the girl thought she had heard the door open, but with her hair covering her face and eyes, Nabiki was unable to see whether the door really was open. It wasn't until a light was switched on that her suspicions were confirmed, and the hurried clicking of heels came closer to her. There was a thump, and she looked up through her bangs to see a figure sliding toward her.
There was only person she knew who would ever do such a thing for another classmate, and as a soft hand touched her chin, pulling it softly so that Nabiki was now looking up at the older girl. Her hand brushed away the lingering tears on her cheek and Nabiki felt her face heat up slightly, embarrassed at having been found in such a state. It wasn't every day that the young girl cried, though it wasn't every day that her knee hit the floor. It made her think of when the volleyball had hit her in the face at the beach.
"B-Benibara-sama," Nabiki managed to say after a brief moment. "I-I'm fine," she added, giving the older girl a bright smile while letting go of her knee, adjusting the hem of the skirt in the process. It was then that she remembered that there was no meeting being planned, and she tilted her head slightly, wondering why she was here also. "Benibara-sama, did you forget something after our last meeting?"
