It was break time, lunch time. There was wind blowing to the east, the leaves on the trees were whipped mercilessly with the wind and the birds chirped in delight at the fresh air. Squirrels bickered loudly with each other aswell. Kyo was sitting on a bench next to the maze, staring boredly at it. He hadn't been hungry, as this morning his mother had forced a rather large breakfast onto him and he just loved his mother too much to say no to all of it. That didn't mean he finished it though. He only ate about half, maybe a little more, as a matter of fact.
His red bangs fell over his eyes as he stared at a rose that was buried in the thorns of the bush. He resisted the urge to go snatch it and save it from the thorns as that would kill it and his hand. Kyo Itari stood up, blinking as the sunlight hit him directly in the eyes. Or so he thought. He turned and walked in the other direction, stalking into the maze, looking for the gazebo all of the Ouran girls had been talking about. How it was so... romantic? Yeah. Now that he thought of that, he might as well avoid it. Love brought one's self down. Those poor girls. They just revolved around the Host Club. And the Host Club didn't truly want them, right?
But, that didn't mean he was jealous. As a matter of fact he avoided girls. All the time. Girls just made him stutter and mess up and look like a total freak, so he really didn't waste his time on them. Kyo could seriously care less. He just focused on training and studying. That's what he was in school for right? To beat the crap out of a bunch of know-it-all boys, then beat them at math? Yeah, that was a good plan. Kyo's brown eyes fell upon a bunch that was under a sakura tree. It was shaded, and he felt the urge to go sit on it. So he walked over and did so. It seemed like it was five degrees cooler under there.
Just as he closed his eyes to fully relax, he heard a yowl and something large fell right into his lap. Kyo's eyes shot open, but he didn't move. Instead he looked right into the eyes of a large (rather fat) cat. Large and tabby colored, he meowed loudly and rubbed it's head against his chest. "Awww. Aren't you cute...!?" He grinned, patting it's head. "Who's your owner anyway?" Kyo cooed, stroking it's back. But almost as quickly as it came, it darted out of his lap. A little sad, he leaned back, his back against the tree. Cute cat.

A bustle and commotion rarely seen except at this time of day raged through the halls of Lobelia Academy. The lunch bell had rung and students from all different classes were making their way out onto the grounds, to the cafeteria, or to their lockers in an escape from the classes they had endured thus far today. Haruka Fujisaki was rather slow in gathering her things as the girls around her began to gossip almost immediately as if a switch had been flipped on in their brains. She caught tidbits of rather boring conversation; what the Ouran boys where doing after school, who had the best outfit to wear this weekend -- simple things that would usually animate Haruka now passed over her head as trifles.
Heading to her locker and swapping things for lunch, the red head soon found herself on the grounds. She had just spotted Nabiki and the rest of the members of the Zuka Club when another movement, a slight twitch, caught her attention. Waving to the others that she would be there in a moment, Haruka turned and saw that the object that had interested her was, in fact, a cat. It was a large cat, tabby with pretty little stripes, and was just lunging around seeming to do nothing as it wandered. Haruka suddenly worried. If that cat was found who knows what might happen to it.
Glancing around, the girl quickly made her way to the cat’s side and leaned down. Smiling at it, she offered her hand. The cat sniffed it a moment before rubbing its head against her and beginning to purr. Haruka giggled and scooped up the big fur ball wondering what to do with it. Suddenly, before she could decide, footsteps were heard approaching and the cat leapt from her arms up into a tree then over the wall that surrounded the academy. Panicked for the well being of the kitty, Haruka waited for the footsteps to pass and stood on her tip toes trying to see over the wall. She was rather short so there wasn’t much the girl could see until the cat was all the way across the street and seemingly heading towards Ouran Academy. Haruka’s heart skipped a beat. She had to get that cat back but if she went over there she might run into a teacher - or worse - the Host Club.
That thought sent butterflies fluttering her stomach. Unpleasant ones at that. She couldn’t stand to see any of her old classmates or friends especially those in the Host Club. The twins would pounce on her case in a matter of moments and, though she doubted Haruhi would really be anything other than surprised, she couldn’t bear to look Kyoya Ootori in the face yet. There was too much of a mess between them still at the moment and if she was caught on the Ouran grounds chasing a cat….well that might just create a rather unpleasant situation.
Sighing, Haruka turned quickly and made for the front of the school. It was a rare occasion that teachers stopped students from leaving at the lunch hour considering there had been a petition for ordering in lunches so Haruka met no obstacle as she exited. Crossing the street quickly, the red head was across in a matter of seconds and soon found herself walking up the walkway to Ouran Academy. The butterflies in her stomach continued to dance around seeming to multiply and grow larger by the second.
The cat was just up a little too far ahead to be caught still on its way to Ouran. Just as it would have entered though, the cat turned and raced to the right. Haruka quickly went after it and saw, to her surprise, it leapt over a hedge in the back and disappeared just beside what she knew from attending the school before, to be the hedge maze. Letting out a soft sigh of relief, Haruka raced after the cat and stood on tiptoes peeking over the hedge. She didn’t see too many students, luckily, and there was absolutely no sign of the Host Club. That wasn’t much of a reassurance though considering the twins and their habit to pop up right behind someone who wasn’t expecting them. Biting her lip and hoping for the best, Haruka looked around and spotted a bench. Climbing over it and dropping lightly on the other side of the hedge, the Lobelia girl brushed off her uniform with a frown. Dirt. Ew.
Looking up as she heard a meow, Haruka spotted the cat jump up into a Sakura tree just above another bench this time occupied by a boy clad in the usual Ouran Academy uniform. It was then that Haruka realized she must stick out like a red rose among all white ones. Her different uniform and bright, eye catching red hair were clear indications that the girl was not supposed to be there and Haruka resolved to get that cat as quickly as she could then get out of there.
A sudden yowl interrupted the young girl’s thoughts though and Haruka turned her head just in time to see the tabby cat leapt down into the lap of the red haired boy. Here was her chance. Running towards them, the girl resisted the urge of calling out to the that he hold onto it in fear the cat might dart away. Just as she approached though, it did squirm and leap before disappearing further into the grounds. Haruka let out a distressed noise and let her shoulders drop as she watched the cat race away in its fun game of ‘catch-me-if-you-can.’ Turning towards the boy, she smiled sheepishly and turned a faint pink.
“I’m so sorry about that,” she said gently. “I have to get that cat back though, do you have any idea where it might be going? Have you seen it around here before?” Haruka’s voice had changed from its gentle, apologetic tone into a quick desperate race in a hope the boy might know exactly where the cat was going. She needed to get to Lobelia before the end of the lunch break and before she was missed. Crossing her fingers in a silent plea, Haruka gazed at the boy in hope.

Oh damn. A girl. He had been about to fall asleep agaisnt that rather rough tree, and then boom. Here comes this... girl! And no, this was not any ordinary girl, this was a St.Lobelia girl. Narrowing his eyes, Kyo stood up and stared at her for a long time. But he tried to open his mouth and tell her to get off of Ouran property, he got tongue tied. He couldn't get the words out. Kyo frowned, taking a deep breath. "Never seen it." He said bluntly. Not just that, he was angry that she may have seen him going gah gah over that cute little cat. Damn it!
He felt like going and sulking, but he stood his ground, looking her over. She was thin, not curvy at all, a good height, and she had a hair color that was similer to his. Kyo folded his arms and avoided looking at her, instead he felt a little worried for the cat. The students here were not only jerks, but they hated any kind of animal. Well, most of them. They would most likely call someone to get it. And... that wasn't exactly what Kyo wanted at this point. "I'll help you look for it." He grumbled, staring after where it went, he turned and nodded to her. "If o-one of the Ouran girls finds it t-they'll call animal control and we both don't want that." He admitted.
No one wanted that. No one would want to wish that on a poor animal. "I-I guess... w-we'll just go look for it then." Kyo sighed, shoving his hands in his pockets. Any guy would give to even be close to a girl like her, but he was just anti social was the problem. He really liked animals, so that was basically the only reason he was doing this. That and something good may come out of this. Selfish, yes, but he was wasting his time if it was just for the animal. See, he did things only if he knew he could get something good out of it. Kyo ran his fingers through his hair, and not waiting for her, walked after the cat. "Come'ere kitty kitty kitty! I have a nice can of food for ya just c'mon out..."

Some days I'm sweet and some days I'm sour But I can't help but drink you up! - - -because you're my happy hour Lunch time, her favorite time of day. Well, second favorite actually since dinner was first. It was, after all, the only real time her family ever spent together, and she loved the looks on their faces whenever she made them try some kind of new recipe that she had the inspiration to make. Gathering her school stuff, Nabiki went slowly, not liking to get pushed and shoved into the rush of students who eagerly made their way down to the cafeteria. Already having pack a lunch, Nabiki never had to bother with the long lines and the pushing and shoving. Of course, no one ever purposely pushed a Zuka club member, but that's not to say that it doesn't happen accidentally from time to time. Not to mention her lunches were about ten times better than anything the lunch ladies made them. Being that it was a warm day she knew the other ladies would want to eat outside, which was almost something close to a tradition for the club, just like Nabiki bringing the too many sweets she baked and sharing them around.
She wasn't too surprised that she was the first club member out there since the others usually got lunch from the cafeteria, though it didn't take long before they were all filing out, falling Benio like she was a goddess. In some ways the young woman was. She was graceful, popular, outgoing, social, everything that a woman could possibly want to be. Her one major flaw, at least in Nabiki's eyes, was her specialization in the over-exaggeration of...well of pretty much anything and everything she did. Her blue eyes traveled over the other members of the club and noticed immediately that Haruka was not among them, and that wasn't going to do at all. If that girl thought she could get away with leaving her all alone with the other members she was sorely mistaken. Only a few minutes later Nabiki spotted the girl's vibrant red head come out of the school and she waved at them. Nabiki returned the wave rather enthusiastically and then frowned.
Where in the hell is she going? she asked herself, her fingers tapping against her folded legs with a mix between curiosity and annoyance. Nabiki looked at the others with a warm smile that was plastered onto her smooth features and excused herself. The others merely nodded, seeming to have not noticed the fact that Haruka was off running somewhere else. That girl is going to be in so much trouble if she thought she was going to leave me alone with them. Standing, Nabiki began to follow Haruka and was a little confused when she saw her friend walking toward the gates leading off school grounds. Tapping a long finger against her chin, Nabiki shrugged and followed. It wasn't like she had anything better to do, and she wasn't particularly hungry.
Haruka was headed towards Ouran and the only thing Nabiki could think as to why was Kyoya, the Host Clubs Shadow King. But why? The last time Haruka mentioned Kyoya it was in the middle of a rant about how stupid and horrible he was. Maybe Kyoya made it up to her, Nabiki thought, walking across the street quickly. Yet if that was the case then she was under the firm belief that the bastard, as she so lovingly called Kyoya Ootori, was probably using her friend. This meant Nabiki was going to have to kill him, and anyone who thought she joking would be in for a surprise when the youngest Ootori son suddenly disappeared. Stopping on the sidewalk, just in front of the entrance to the Ouran school, she watched in slight amazement when Haruka climbed over the hedge using a bench.
There was no way in hell that Nabiki was climbing over that. Turning, Nabiki began to step onto school grounds and hesitated, the thought of the Hitachiin twins making her hesitate. "Oh gosh Nabiki, suck it up. Who cares if they see you on school grounds?" she muttered to herself, stepping through the gates. There weren't many people hanging around the lawns and while Nabiki knew where the maze was, she didn't really know anything about it. Luckily for her she found a boy who was hanging around just in front. He spotted her and his jaw dropped nearly to the floor, probably because she was a St. Lobelia girl. Batting her eyelashes, Nabiki looked up at him and bit her bottom lip slightly. "Excuse me, but I'm supposed to meet someone in here. Can you take me to the best spot to do so?" He managed to stammer a "sure" and Nabiki followed him through the maze until they reached the gazebo.
There stood Haruka and an orange haired boy. So it was a boy, Nabiki thought, grabbing the one who had led her and pulling him behind a corner so they couldn't be seen. The boy behind her began stammering something about food and she waved him off, "that's nice. I don't need your help anymore, thank you, by." It was a rather harsh rebuttal, but Nabiki tended to become rather oblivious when she set her mind to something that made her curious. "I have to get that cat back." A cat? Haruka left school grounds for a cat?! And yet Nabiki wasn't really surprised, for as odd as it sounded it was definitely something that Haruka would do.
As the orange haired kid turned around Nabiki stepped out and slipped her arms around Haruka's waist and rested her chin on the other girl's shoulder. "You do know that if we get caught here we could get in trouble. Especially if we're late once classes start again." The dark haired girl sighed and straightened, pushing one of her black pig-tails behind her shoulder as she studied the orange haired kid. They'd look cute together, and it would probably make Kyoya jealous.

As the boy answered her rather bluntly, Haruka couldn’t help the sinking feeling she felt. He didn’t know anything about the cat and he was more then likely about to scamper off and tell someone that she was there when she wasn’t supposed to be. The simple thought of being caught petrified Haruka until the girl could scarcely move. She wasn’t one to get into trouble often but when she did, Haruka had a tendency to go into shock. This particular instance could get her into heap loads of trouble she couldn’t even imagine. Of course only now did it occur to Haruka that it may not have been worth chasing the cat but it was too late. She was already here. Suddenly interrupting her thoughts, the boy stood and Haruka’s eyes widened in plain, innocent curiosity. He didn’t say a word but rather simply stood there seeming to be looking her over for some reason or another, probably wondering if he should help her or not. Indignant, Haruka raised her chin and resisted the urge to huff as she studied his scrawny build and noticed the eye popping orange mop on his head. Suddenly, the boy offered his help and Haruka’s head lowered back to normality and her eyes grew wide again.
“Really?” she asked rather stunned. There ensued a pause then, “Great!” the girl exclaimed happily. A large grin crossed Haruka’s face and as the boy continued to stutter she couldn’t help the giggle that escaped as her grin widened. This boy wasn’t aloof or arrogant - he was just shy and awkward. She could understand that; if she herself weren’t so regrettably naïve about everything, Haruka figured she would probably be in the exact same situation. Sadly for the world though, Haruka Fujisaki was far too naïve to even notice awkward situations half the time and was quick to breeze over things or ask questions that anyone else would cringe and turn tail from. “You’re right. We don’t want that.” the red head quietly replied, grinning still.
Catching herself in the childishly broad and overly pleased grin, Haruka quickly wiped it and morphed the expression into a simple smile so that the boy wouldn’t think she was patronizing him. “Yeah sure, we can just…look around for it.” she added beginning to let her gaze flicker around the grounds. The boy began to walk away calling the kitty and Haruka turned her gaze onto the maze beside her. Could the cat have run off there maybe? The red head was about to check it out when two arms came up behind and held her.
Haruka’s heart skipped a beat. Oh god, no. Please don’t let it be Kyoya or the twins, the girl thought frantically. As a small chin came to rest on her shoulder though and the familiar scent of her best friend registered in Haruka’s mind, the girl relaxed almost instantly. Thank the Lord. Although, if she paused and let herself think about it logically, Kyoya would never have done something so showy or impulsive as this action, it wasn’t in his character to even be around anyone who did, so she’d had no reason to worry in the first place. Besides, even if the twins had tried it, they usually announced their presence before touching anyone.
As Nabiki’s familiar voice sounded in Haruka’s ears breaking through the girl’s thoughts, the little red head couldn’t help but laugh softly as she turned to look at her friend. “There’s nothing here that could keep me late from classes except you.” the girl replied softly but teasingly. Then, with a wicked, spur of the moment impulse, Haruka stuck out her tongue and gave her friend a big lick on the cheek. Giggling, she slipped out of Nabiki’s grasp and smiled. “We’re looking for a cat.” she said then in an attempt to redirect the attention from her nasty little prank. Nabiki’s reaction was something Haruka surly couldn’t predict. Although, if she was honest with herself, Haruka knew the brunette probably wouldn’t react too violently for she must be used to the red head’s strange impulses by now. Attention suddenly caught by Nabiki’s spacing out, Haruka following her friend’s gaze and found herself turning back to the boy who’d offered to help her. “Oh! That’s…..um…..somebody. I don’t know his name,” she admitted sheepishly, “but he’s gonna help us find the cat.”
With the rather pleased grin slipping onto her face once again, Haruka turned towards the boy and grabbed Nabiki’s hand pulling her friend after him. “C’mon, we don’t wanna get caught or left behind. I may have attended this school last year but I don’t remember the best hiding places and I’m sure carrot-top here can help us.” she continued. Carrot-top; now there was a rather hypocritical nickname considering Haruka’s own hair colour. Attempting to weed out the hypocrite of her thoughts though, Haruka came to the conclusion that her hair was more dark red as this boy’s was almost neon orange. Hers was more natural and his was…odd. Shaking her head of useless thoughts, Haruka continued on with Nabiki in tow. As the two soon approached the Ouran boy, Haruka tugged his sleeve gently and looked up, as he was considerably taller than the petite girl, before she voiced another question as to where he thought the cat might be hiding.
“You don’t think he went inside do you?” she asked releasing both persons and walking beside them trying to keep up with the boy’s relatively larger stride. Haruka dearly hoped not. Inside the school there were rooms; amoung those rooms some where music rooms; in one particular music room, she wouldn’t doubt, sat the very person the entity of her existence now dreaded encountering.
[Ewww...post fail. T.T I'm so sorry guys. The muse is all scatterbrained atm and half asleep but I shouldn't expect any better after all night amusing her then posting at 6:25 am. Anyways, I'm thinking maybe pinky you could reply next then we can rope Tamaki and the twins into it respectivly in that order depending on what everyone wants.]

- - - Ninety-nine dreams I have had, And every one a red balloon - - - - - - It's all over and I'm standing pretty, In the dust that was a city - - -
Tap, tap, dah, di, duh. A random song broke the silence of the music room. It was random, broken in places, and just an attempt to kill the boredom of it's player. Tamaki stroked the keys in an odd manor. Normally, he would play a song from a sheet, or something he had memorized. But the blonde host wasn't in the mood. His boredom was bringing him down, and most of the songs he had were peppy, up-beat songs. The boy suddenly bent over and put his head on the piano. The piano let out a sound, made up of clusters of keys from the impact of Tamaki's skull.
Tamaki willed himself to sit up. He stood up, and walked outside of the room with a blank expression. Tamaki made his way down the wall, and through the school. He didn't really know where he was going, and figured getting lost would be fun. But he found himself outside the entire school, in the courtyard. The sun was high, which meant it was past noon. He took small steps across the grass, his eyes lazily looking over the landscaping. He was tired, only because he was bored.
But voices soon perked him up. Perhaps some social enteraction would help him. He looked around the corner to see three people talking. He had no idea what they were talking abot. But what Tamaki did know, was that the two girls didn't go to that school. He knew them as St. Lobelia students. Well, there was no use standing there like a confused idiot, although it wasn't far off. He trotted towards the group, a broad smile on his face. He was able to catch the last sentance of one of the girls.
Who went inside? He asked, rocking on his feet. He had his hands behind his back, trying to look quite innocent. There wasn't much reason why he wouldn't be, though. But then he figured he'd ask them why there were here. Perhaps it would make them nervous, and maybe it would amuse him. Aren't you two fine, young ladies from St. Lobelia?
He pestered, leaning forward a bit. He placed a hand on Nabiki's shoulder, staring at her. You know, it's easy to get caught here. There are a bunch of tattletales... He trailed off, digging his heels into the ground. He broke into a huge grin, wagging his finger ever-so gently. Tamaki looked over to Kyo. as if to only now relize his presence. He lessened his smile, and gave a bit of a wave.
Kyo! He greeted. Haven't seen you around- how do you do? He gave a half bow, and then twisted around to face the girls again, one hand sliding into his pocket. He wondered what the girls were doing here, actually. One was looking for someone? But what about the other. He'd figure it out later.

Kyo stopped and looked around, his hands still in his pockets, he furrowed his eyebrows. Stupid cat. He sighed, again. He needed help. 'Carrot-top' turned around and walked back. He leaned around the bush to look if this girl was coming, but instead he found her socializing with a different girl! What the hell was this!? 'Sneak into Ouran Day'!? Kyo sighed and chewed on his lip. Fine, whatever. He'd do it himself. Turning he started walking and peeking under bushes and around trees. Stupid.... stupid cat. He felt almost like he was wasting time, but it would be another hour before classes started again. Maybe he could even blow off school for today. He felt like he just wouldn't even be able to concentrate! School was boring. He felt bored right now!
But he could overhear their conversation. That was entertaining. Leaning against a nearby tree, he listened, not even flinching when she called him carrot-top. He was used to that. The other girl seemed to want the other girl to come back to Lobelia. Smart girl. He thought to himself. but the natural red haired girl explained what was going on.. and he heard foot steps. Leaping from the tree he tried to look as if he had been looking for the cat. It was a little phony, but it worked either way. Kyo could feel her tugging at his sleeve. So... he didn't flinch at the carrot-top insult, but he did flinch when she tugged on his sleeve. "What is it now?" He grumbled, turning around to face her. And his eyes met with Nabiki's. And he went awkward. Again.
"I-I... I don't know." Kyo frowned, rubbing the back of his neck. He was looking down at Haruka, she was so much smaller than him and it was surprising. His cheeks turned red and he looked away, stepping backward and almost tripping over thin air. "I wouldn't know. I just saw it... it was-" It's tail stuck out of a bush, Kyo instantly knew that was the cat he was looking for. Leaping forward, he attempted to grab the tail but the cat dashed away. Landing face down on the dirt, he was dazed. Sitting up, he rubbed his head and groaned. "That was really stupid." Kyo growled to himself, standing up and tottering a little. "It's outside then. Your q-q-question was answered." The red haired young man smiled slightly.
And then. There was Tamaki. He didn't have much time to react to the sudden appearance of the popular host, as he was half awake and half asleep. Or half conscious and half un-conscious you could say. Kyo stared hard at Tamaki as he attempted the flirt. He scowled and shoved his hands in his pockets. Aren't you two fine, young ladies from St. Lobelia? "Yeah. Apparently it's 'Sneak into Ouran' day." He replied heatedly. He deeply hated Tamaki, and his stupid club. They flirted with girls, making them think they had a chance with them when they didn't. It was a sad thing. You know, it's easy to get caught here. There are a bunch of tattletales... "Like yourself!?" Kyo retorted, his eyes burned like fire as they stared right at Tamaki.
Kyo! Haven't seen you around- how do you do? The red haired boy chewed on his lip, trying hard not to leap forward and slap him. No, not a slap. More of a punch. "You look how I feel. Bad. Now can we get going?!" Kyo snapped, turning on his heels and marching away, not even wanting to look Tamaki in the face. He, like most other Ouran guys, didn't like Tamaki. But he had a hatred, a deep hatred. Kyo hated the way they treated girls. Girls needed a real boyfriend. One that didn't flirt with them for five seconds then go onto the next one! Someone who actually loved them and actually cared about them. Kyo figured Tamaki and his little 'club' were poisoning the minds of the teenage girls at Ouran.

Some days I'm sweet and some days I'm sour But I can't help but drink you up! - - -because you're my happy hour Nabiki thought about her friend's comment for a moment and tapped an elegant finger against the side of her own nose, an innocent smile on her face. "Me? Make you late for class? I've never done such a thing, so why say something so silly?" she asked, a mischievous look in her blue eyes and she stuck her tongue out at Haruka cheekily. Nabiki, usually one to notice small actions rather quickly, failed to notice that her red-head friend had something nefarious in mind. Not until she felt the slimy, wet tongue of her best friend slide against her cheek. The dark haired girl was unable to stop her eye from twitching or the grossed out scowl that crossed her normally smooth features. Haruka had wriggled from her grasp before Nabiki could even think about getting revenge, so instead she wiped at her cheek with the palm of her hand. "There's not much that can annoy me, but licking me? That's just gross," she told Haruka, her blue eyes narrowed slightly as she glared.
"Why did you chase the cat all the way over here anyway? It's just a cat," Nabiki said, bending over to look under a nearby hedge before pushing back her pigtails that had fallen forward. She looked at the orange haired boy with a slight frown but before she could think of why she had this odd feeling about him there was the sound of footsteps. A tall blonde boy stepped out from behind a corner and Nabiki instantly knew who he was. Tamaki Suoh, creator and prince of the Host Club, and Nabiki couldn't stop the sly smile from appearing on her face. Taking a couple steps forward the short, dark haired young girl looked up at Tamaki, "why yes we are. But you're not going to tattle on us are you? After all, we're only here because we're trying to save a cat."
Personally it all sounded a little silly to Nabiki. It was a cat and if the damned thing wanted to run around the schools or along the streets then fine. But she also knew that Haruka tended to worry over things such as that. As long as Tamaki didn't recognize either one of them as members of the Zuka club then there was a chance they'd be able to get out of here without too many issues. Sneak into Ouran Day? Nabiki thought to herself, looking over at the orange haired boy with one regal eyebrow arched. Instinctively her hands settled on her hips and she was quite ready to make some smart comment when she thought better of it. Making enemies with a person from a different school wasn't the best of ideas, especially when she had, in all technicalities, had sneaked onto their school grounds.
The animosity that was coming from the orange haired boy surprised her. Part of her could understand why someone wouldn't like Tamaki, after all Benio did a rather good job at hating the Host Club Prince's guts, yet at the same time he was always so cheery. Nabiki looked from Tamaki to carrot top and then to Haruka, trying to read some other kind of reaction from either of them. In an attempt to avoid some kind of horrifying confrontation, Nabiki made a lame attempt to change the subject to something different. Mostly different anyway. "Are you okay?" she asked carrot top, stepping over to him and brushing at some dirt that was on the blue Ouran uniform. "I don't think that cat really wants to be found." Talk about a very lame attempt.

Haruka had been slightly surprised by her friend’s reaction, both of the reactions really, but that surprise was short lived as a mischievous giggle slipped from her lips the next moment. “Sorry,” the red-head apologized in a half truth. Teasing Nabiki was fun in its own right seeing as the girl was so easily set up and bothered. Haruka wouldn’t ever give up that past-time but she did know when to stop unlike some other red-headed two she had been previously acquainted with. Grinning at her friend with a look of pure innocence, Haruka waited for the imaginary halo above her head to poof away. Nabiki’s next question caught the red-head off guard though and the girl paused in her antics to raise a brow in curiosity before she reddened with an embarrassed grin. “Oh, well I felt bad about the cat running into Ouran grounds after being scared by a Lobelia student so I came to look for it.” she replied nervously. With a bit of an uncomfortable fidget, Haruka then turned and decided to skip after ‘carrot-top’ but, unluckily, he seemed to grow embarrassed again after she spoke for no reason and stepped back. Feeling self-conscious, Haruka had flushed red and stepped away as well attempting to mutter an apology that seemed to not be heard. A sudden lurch, dodge and tumble of limbs resulted in the next few moments and soon Haruka found herself gazing up at the others, dazed. What had just happened?
From afar, had she been an onlooker, Haruka would have noted that at the same moment she’d stepped back towards the bushes, Kyo had spotted the elusive cat’s tail and lurched to grab at it. Tripping over that cat and then being rammed by a rather larger boy had knocked Haruka aside and the red-head soon found herself on her bum beside a mud puddle. It had been a quick accident but enough to daze the girl and cause Haruka to wonder where the ground had disappeared to. Regaining her senses again, Haruka turned and spotted the mud puddle she’d landed beside and all the creepy crawlies around it. Her eyes were quick in widening and her face contorted into a seemingly humorous expression of fear and disgust as the girl squealed and retreated. Ick.
Back on her feet again, Haruka let out a sigh and brushed off her behind muttering quietly to herself and disregarding Kyo’s own answer and smile at her. Turning, the girl gave a small ‘hmph’ and crossed her arms resorting to her ‘I’m presently annoyed, leave me alone’ tactic of ignoring someone. By a stroke of luck for Kyo or misfortune for Haruka, a familiar blonde head suddenly appeared then to rescue the moment and the little red-head’s eyes widened. Tamaki Suoh. Haruka’s insides churned as the face was recognized and the girl had to fight an impending urge to step and hide behind Nabiki as the Host Club leader began to speak. Instead, she resorted to pretending to listen politely as her head swiveled around frantically in search of a most unwanted face as her own visage once more contorted to that same expression of disgust and fear that she’d had upon spotting the bugs and mud. Kyoya, Kyoya, Kyoya….no Kyoya. Shoulders falling and eyes closing, Haruka breathed out a deep sigh of relief before curiosity overtook her. It was odd that Tamaki was out and about on his own without any of the other Host Club members. Before her mind could mull over these thoughts though, Haruka heard Kyo snap harshly at Tamaki and her eyes widened again. Geesh, someone was grouchy. Haruka figured, just like most people, that many of the boys at Ouran didn’t necessarily like the Host Club members but many seemed to keep quiet and even admire them to some extent. Kyo seemed to harbour only utter hatred and, though it could go deeper than what Haruka knew, it was very rude.
Rolling her eyes and brushing past Kyo to stand beside Nabiki, Haruka smiled at Tamaki. So far it didn’t seem as if the blonde boy had recognized her as either a member of the Zuka Club or Kyoya’s ex-friend or whatever she had been. That was good. So long as she didn’t blow her cover, Haruka figured she’d be alright. Alright for at least long enough to flee the scene. “Hi, Tama-ch--I mean, Suoh-senpai.” the girl’s eyes grew wide and she hoped the Host wouldn’t catch her blunder this early in the game. Way to not blow her cover. In the first greeting too! Haruka could have sweat dropped. Tama-chan; she hadn’t meant to let that slip out no matter what she called Tamaki in the past or in her head. Rushing ahead in an attempt to cover her mistake, Haruka grinned again trying not to let her mistake mess with her features. “I’ve heard the Host Club has been doing well, that’s always good, club’s should always be doing well otherwise you never know what might happen, anyways it was nice seeing you agai- today but I think I’d better get going!” Head down and tail between her legs, Haruka brushed past the others with her cheeks enflamed and began to make for the exit of the Ouran grounds. Oh what a fun reunion that had been!
[Alright, I guess Haruka is out now. Charrie's can reply to her however you guys want but I won't be posting again. Also, I know someone asked me to post a posting order. o.O I can't remember who but from here I think it would be Kyo, Tamaki, Nabiki then Kyo again and so on.
