Site Rules

{Applying}

• When you register, I don't care what you use as your username (just be sure to keep it appropriate). I have no right to say "no, you cannot use jinkme334” for when you register.
  
  
• I do, however, have the right to say what your characters name can look like. As a whole, we are an English speaking site, therefore when you change your display name I ask that you put "First Name, Last Name" with all of the proper capitalization.
  
  
• If your character has a nickname that they like then you still need to put their full name but you can put their nickname in with it. For example "Mitsukuni 'Hunny' Haninozuka"
  
  
• Keep your names the same as from where your character is from. If you have a character who is from America and their parents were born in America then you should have an American name. This goes for all countries.
  
  
• IMPORTANT! For all Hetalia characters, we ask that you please use the official name of that country and the republic title, if they have any. For example, Hungary would not be "Hungary" it would be "Magyar Köztársaság," Norway would be "Kongeriket Norge" and Russia would be "Российская Федерация." If a country has special characters, please use them where you can. I do realize proboards wont always accept other characters so phonetic translations are acceptable.
  

{Characters}

• There is only one character per account. I understand that this is a slight issue with some people, but on a personal level I find it a little confusing. The only exception to this rule is if you want twin characters and we do not allow thousands of twins to be running around. (i.e the Hitachiin brothers). The only reason I'm allowing twins on one account is because I know how hard it can sometimes be to have someone else play your likeness but be sure to PM or ask a staff member in the cbox BEFORE you apply with twins.
  
  
• Normally I don't have limits on how many characters each member can have, but I've also seen plenty of boards with only ten members have up to forty characters, and I find that a little ridiculous. Therefore there is a maximum of four characters per person, and all of them must be on separate accounts. If you believe that you can handle a fourth character then PM an admin and we will decide if you can have another.
  
  
• Since it seems that girls always out number boys, we ask that you create one boy for every two girl characters you have.
  
  
• Obviously there are to be no Mary-Sue or Gary-Stu characters. If your character had a hard life that's fine, but don't make them emo "I'm going to kill myself in every post". If I see that you're creating a character like that I'll make you change it. Also, no one is perfect, therefore you have to have flaws!
  
  
• If you would like to have a canon character then please PM a staff member or post under the canon thread so that we can make sure your wanted character is reserved for you.
  
  
• HETALIA ORIGINALS! All originals must be currently existing countries. All exceptions such as a provinces and territories [ex. Svalbard of Norway//Isle of Mann of Britain] must be agreed upon by said country AND the admin. No US. states will be available.
  
  
• The minimum word count is at least 500 words per post.
  
  
• You must have a decent literary level and respect grammar rules. This is an absolute must - no literacy and disregard for grammar and you're a socking away from being eaten by the Chloemunster. ‘tis no joke.
  
  
• You must be willing to log on at least three times a week and post respectively without too much of a delay. Sometimes things do happen but generally, as a rule of thumb, be prepared to post three times a week in addition to the three times you are required to log in.
  
  
• You must take initiative and post in the away board lest something occur. Again, we understand about incidents but please do try and warn us. Canons are very important to our plot as on any site and we must be able to plan accordingly.

{Applications}

• Do not plagiarize anything on your application. It should be original because the character is yours. If you're re-using one of your characters from another site and copy/paste the history, that's fine, but make sure it works with this site and that it isn't someone else’s. If we find out that you stole your character, we will ban and delete you without warning.
  
  
• Do not copy and paste another sites application. I made the application specifically for this site, and if you don't use it then you're going to have to redo the whole thing. Make your answers a decent length, but please don't write a novel either. I don't want to spend six hours reading one application.
  
  
• Before creating an application for a canon character, please make sure you sign up for that canon. If you start creating a canon character without signing up then I will tell you that you cannot have them, and if someone else signs up and claims the canon like they were supposed to then it will go to them.
  
  
• After creating an account, you have one week to finish an application, whether it be a canon or original, and if it is not completed a week from the day you started then it shall be moved to the "archived" board. You will have three days to come back and request that it be moved, and then an added three days to finish it before we delete your account.
  
  
• As of now, we have two staff members who will review your profile. After your application gets approval from both staff members then your app will be moved and your character changed appropriately.
  
  
• If a staff member asks you to fix something in your application then we expect you to fix it. You have three days to fix your application, and if you don't then we have no problem moving your application in the "archived" board for all to see.
  

{Roleplaying}

• There is to be no slang or chat speak when you are roleplaying. The only time this is allowed is if your character is speaking. When describing a situation, area, or anything else then spelling and grammar is key. Cursing is allowed, but please keep it to a minimum, we are a PG-13 site, so nothing too strong that goes by uncensored. [In this case, nothing more than shit and damn, [for romano-- bastard] sorry guys]. If we notice that you are cursing quite a bit in your posts then we will give you a warning.
  
  
• Do not god-mod. That is a huge no-no and will not be tolerated. If the person you are RPing with does god-mod then please PM an admin and we will handle the situation. Please do not try and do so on your own.
  
  
• This board is PG-13 so there is to be no uncensored cursing. There will also be no references to drink, drugs, sex, and violence. Sorry guys, proboards freaked on me, i got a legit PM. o.o;
  
  
• Now, our word minimum on this site is 500, but we do not want a huge single paragraph. Space it out, think clearly and take your time; we require a minimum of at least two paragraphs per post. This gives the person you're RPing with something to respond too and it allows for a more intelligent RP experience. Remember, literacy is key!
  

{Appearance}

• There are to be no pornographic or hentai pictures what-so-ever. If a staff member tells you that your picture is too risqué, then you need to change it. If you refuse to do so then we will remove the picture and issue a warning to your account, and if you try putting it back up then you will get banned.
  
  
• No pictures of video game characters. You may use any anime/manga character you wish (unless they are a canon of this board and you don't play them). This also means that there will be no real life play by's.
  
  
• Avatar pictures are a must and be no bigger than 100x100. If you wish to have a signature picture that is just fine, but please make sure the it is not bigger than 500x300 so it doesn't stretch the board.
  
  
• There is a face claim board. If your character belongs to a specific anime/manga than you need to post in the face claim board. If you drew the picture yourself because you're that awesome, then you don't have to worry about it.
  

{OOC}

• When out of character then please respect the other board members and the staff members.
  
  
• Do not spam our c-box or boards.
  
  
• Show respect for the hard work that went into other people's creations. This goes for their character(s) that they made, any graphics they made, and this site itself.
  
  
• Do not bother people to respond to threads. Sometimes our muse fails us and sometimes life gets in the way. Be an understanding person and others will do the same for you.
  
  
• We have a three warning system for breaking the minor rules, (i.e not meeting the posting requirements, etc.) If you get two warnings then you will be banned for 10 days. If you receive a third warning then you'll be banned from the site and your character deleted.
  

{The End}

• All of these rules are subject to change as the OH and proboards staff see fit. If changes are made then we will send out a mass PM if any of the rule changes affect you. (i.e::word counts, graphics, etc) Thank you and we hope you enjoy your time at the prestigious Ouran Academy.
